Weaveworms are a race of giant insects who produce Eloria's silk.

The size of men when fully grown, weaveworms are divided into mothers, workers, and juveniles.  Mothers spend their lives upon metal perches, endlessly giving birth to larvae.  The juveniles then find their own perches and weave thick, pale cocoons.  Weaveworm workers select some cocoons to survive; the boiled the rest in pools of bubbling water, killing the larvae within.  The boiled cocoons are then fed into elaborate looms, which the weaveworms build from scrap metal, producing silk.  The silk is traded with humans in return for more scrap metal for perches and looms.
